Ms. Evans holds a Bachelor’s degree in Communication from William Jewell College in Missouri and a Master’s degree in Theater Arts and Design from the University Missouri as well as a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from John F. Kennedy University (Holistic Medicine Specialization). She also spent an undergraduate year at Harlaxton University in Grantham, England.
She returned to graduate school in a mid-life change of career and has been a counselor for the last 12 years. She has worked with people of all ages in schools, private settings and clinics. Ms. Evans employs various methods to help her clients fight depression, anxiety, poor self-esteem, ADD/ADHD and dysfunctional family relationships. She is also experienced with helping clients manage bipolar disorder, schizophrenia and dissociative disorders. She employs primarily psychodynamic psychotherapy methodologies and polyvagal theories of dealing with anxiety.
Ms. Evans has traveled widely and is enthusiastic about her role as a citizen of the world. In her free time, she and her husband enjoy their ever-expanding family, camping and fundraising for several environmental causes. She also is active in community theater in directing and acting. She is honored to be part of a company that believes passionately in the message of inclusiveness and Ohana (the Hawaiian word for family).
