Ms. Evans holds a Master’s degree in Theater Arts and Design from the University Missouri, a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from John F. Kennedy University (Holistic Medicine Specialization). She completed a Bachelor’s degree in Communication from William Jewell College in Missouri and spent an undergraduate year at Harlaxton University in Grantham, England.
She returned to graduate school in a mid-life change of career and has been a counselor for the past 14 years. She has worked with people of all ages in schools, private practice, and medical clinic settings. Ms. Evans employs various methods to help her clients fight depression, anxiety, poor self-esteem, ADD/ADHD and dysfunctional family relationships. She is also experienced with helping clients manage bipolar disorder, schizophrenia and dissociative disorders. She employs primarily psychodynamic psychotherapy methodologies and polyvagal theories of dealing with anxiety.
Ms. Evans has traveled widely and is enthusiastic about her role as a citizen of the world. In her free time, she and her husband enjoy their ever-expanding family, camping and fundraising for several environmental causes. She also is active in community theater in directing and acting. She is honored to be part of a company that believes passionately in the message of inclusiveness and Ohana (the Hawaiian word for family).
