Ms. Moyer is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who is passionate about joining with others in their journey to wellness. She entered the human services field 12 years ago, providing case management and counseling to diverse sets of individuals, families and groups in homeless shelters, court programs, schools and residential centers. Through this experience she has witnessed the resilience and recovery possible in therapeutic relationships.
In 2016, Ms. Moyer earned a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology with a concentration in Expressive Arts Therapy from the California Institute of Integral Studies. Expressive Arts Therapy utilizes music, movement, writing, drama, sand tray, and visual arts — regardless of whether the client has artistic skills — as methods for self-exploration and expression.
In addition to the arts, Ms. Moyer incorporates narrative therapy, trauma-focused cognitive behavior therapy, mindfulness-based practices, somatic psychology, dialectical behavior therapy, family systems and child-centered play therapy in her strength-based and person-centered approach to the therapeutic process.
Awareness and responsiveness to diversity dynamics are also central to her clinical work. Ms. Moyer is personally and professionally committed to multicultural inclusivity and to addressing systemic oppression. As a clinician at DivaDiversity, she is honored to be fully present with others as they seek connection with their whole selves, others and the world.
